Maryland-based company taking advantage of AI tools to support IP processes
COLUMBIA, Md. (April 2, 2024) – TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announced a recent $150,000 Pre-Seed Builder Fund investment in IPGen, a legal software company utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for their platform. TEDCO’s Pre-Seed Builder Fund is housed under TEDCO’s Social Impact Funds which were created to engage and invest in economically underserved founders and communities.
“At IPGen, we have set out to remove barriers for entry, and sustainability, into global markets by minimizing the costs, risks and difficulties in obtaining quality intellectual property (IP) protection,” said James Brinkley, founder and CEO of IPGen. “Thanks to TEDCO’s investment we can continue towards developing an efficient and comprehensive IP solution for the novice to the expert.”
IPGen, based in Baltimore, Md., is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that seeks to streamline and automate aspects of the various IP processes for anyone involved. IPGen provides a multilayered, end-to-end IP lifecycle management platform, with layers built for various users including entrepreneurs, university tech transfer and commercialization, law firms, freelancers and investors; these layers sit on top of the core product and aim to simplify the substantive work for each.
