As Program Manager for the Baltimore Innovation Initiative (BII) pilot program, Jalaycia Lewis will manage the launch and operations to advance technology-based startups from students and faculty across eligible universities in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson Metropolitan Statistical Area. Jalaycia brings skills and expertise in entrepreneurship and economic mobility at both the state and national levels.
Prior to TEDCO, Jalaycia served as the Senior Program Associate for Prosperity Now, where she played a pivotal role in advancing initiatives focused on economic equity and empowerment. In this capacity, she conducted research on best practices for racial economic justice, enhanced the operational effectiveness of BIPOC-led nonprofits, and facilitated peer learning sessions while convening networks of community leaders nationwide.
Jalaycia earned a Master of Social Work degree in Community Development and Administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Florida State University. She is a proud Floridian, an avid binge-watcher, and popcorn lover.
